Some news: I got a new lens, a new necklace, and a new bag of pita chips, and that’s what you missed on Glee!
However, since they have yet to invent a food-to-screen technology à la Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, I will be sharing only two of those three things with you today. But if you find yourself with some orphaned pita chips in need of a dip, 10/10 Greek grandmas would recommend this tzatziki recipe. Critics (me) are calling it the best thing to come out of the homeland since John Stamos.
On to fashion!
This is a look that to me screams “successful lifestyle blogger on her way to a power brunch with her peers to discuss a new range of stationary”. Something about it just gives off the vibe that the wearer is a very chic but verrrry busy (ugh seriously have you seen her Google calendar? n-i-g-h-t-m-a-r-e) millennial who uses the phrase “my personal brand” on an hourly basis. And who drinks a lot of turmeric, because don’t you know matcha is so 2016?
It also kind of screams “Elly, you are turning into your mother” re: the coat and sensible sweater, but I’m ok with that.
However, the focal point of this is 100% the dope pendant necklace, kindly sent from the heavens (AKA your new favourite accessories designer, Victoria Emerson) to upgrade my wardrobe. I’ve been on the hunt for a statement necklace that doesn’t look too tween-y, and Victoria Emerson do a whole range of them supremely well.
I love how simple yet sophisticated this necklace is, and how it can effortlessly go from day to night. I paired mine here with a cropped boat-neck sweater for the daytime, but I have visions of myself wearing it with a plunging neckline top for going out. Those visions will unfortunately have to be put on hold until I can acquire some boob tape, but they exist nonetheless.
Since the piece does its job as a statement necklace and, well, makes a statement, I’ve kept the rest of the outfit super simple. I’m adhering to an all-neutral colour palette —love trying new things!!!!— and complementing the long necklace with a gorgeous pair of stud earrings, also by Victoria Emerson.
Look out for the second part of this collaboration in the coming weeks! It’s a good ‘un, even if I did freeze my nips off in pursuit of the perfect picture.
