And so concludes an eventful and rather controversial fashion month!
Paris fashion week is the ultimate goal. I feel like attending is when I’ll know I’ve made it; that, and when I can finally afford the large size at Starbucks.
TRENDS TO KNOW
Pink (because yellow was big again too but I CAN’T TAKE IT ANYMORE)
MY FAVE SHOWS
Chloé is quintessentially French bohemian with soft and feminine designs. This season went in a more urban direction, featuring dark neutrals and modern suits before returning to the romantic dresses we know and love in the finale. It’s what to wear if you’re going to a music festival in the morning but have to be at a corporate dinner by 6.
Then comes another favourite, Giambattista Valli, which is making everyone’s inner Anne of Green Gables (PUFFED SLEEVES!!!!) cry tears of joy. Balancing the striking difference between dramatic darks and light florals by maintaining an overall sexy sophistication vibe via light ruffles and tons of sheer, the collection was one of my faves from the entire month.
Finally, a label I’d admittedly not heard of before but am definitely putting on my list entitled “Things To Buy When I’m Rich/Famous”: Jacquemus. What I love about this collection is that it’s high fashion but somehow seems more wearable. The 80s revival we’ve seen throughout the month -big shoulders! high waists!- was obvious but it got a revamp that was slightly reminiscent of the French countryside. Made emphatically evident by the straw hats the models sported.
