Hey hey hey long time no blog!
Well not really, since I was a good little blogger and scheduled all my posts well in advance for when I was going to be in Greece so there was no absence of WhatKumquat on the internet. Phew. CLOSE one. Thank me later.
But I haven’t written anything new in approximately three weeks due to a combination of no internet + I’m on holiday (you try being productive when there’s a beach to go lay on). And it’s been weird. Since I started doing this blogging thing pretty much daily about a year ago, I’ve gotten used to a schedule and my weeks are no longer the same without my routine blogging-as-a-means-of-procrastinating-my-real-work.
So let me paint you a picture of what’s currently happening around me as I type this post.
I’m in the airport in London, after being banished from my terminal -for reasons unknown- to a new one that’s like the Walmart of terminals. It is 23h. This marks the beginning of a 10- hour layover for me (because I’m a moron/broke and this is the only flight back to the good ol’ U.S I could find on short notice). I’m seeking shelter in a subpar coffee shop, surrounded by empty cups, despair, a few other prisoners of Terminal 3 who have somehow managed to fall asleep, and the soothing sounds of some weird techno-indie music I am really not a fan of.
An unlucky situation for my general wellbeing and sanity, but quite the opportune time to flex my blogging muscles and get back into regular posting.
This is the first in what I know is going to be a few weeks’ worth of Greece-related posting, but to ease into it I’m just going to do a general photo dump. Not that many photos, since most of the photography I did was fashion-related (QUELLE SURPRISE), but a few pics I took here and there.
AKA in Athens, where our apartment is, and on the island of Skiathos, which I’ve been going to fairly religiously for years now due to the fact that my best friend/sometimes Instagram husband Electra has a house there and is willing to harbour me for a few weeks most summers.
Stay tuned for more posts from Greece– and maybe a couple of artsy vids, if I can get my act together in time/ever escape from this godforsaken terminal!!!
